If you have been a long-time follower of this blog, you may be aware of my love-hate relationship with artwork and commissions. I’ve considered closing them before, have periodically shut them down, and have reopened them indefinitely…until now. After a long consideration and debate, I have finally decided to close commissions January 1st, 2017.

Why Are You Closing Them?

I have decided to close commissions due to them not having a place in my long term business plans and I find that the time to do commissions could be used on something that is actually part of my long term business plans.

This is not to say I am not thankful for the commissions I have done and am currently working on — because I am! Thanks to all of you, I was able to obtain additional money for business and pay for things like gas! I definitely appreciate it.

However, I need to acknowledge that the time that is currently spent on commissions needs to go towards the execution for my long term plans.

But….What About the Money?

I do acknowledge that I may be risk losing potential profits, however, I feel that this is a risk worth taking. I’m sure it will take a while to build an audience who wants products based off my characters and stories, but I am willing to go that route. I hope that any profit I lose from closing down commissions will be quickly be made up and I end up with much more.

What Are You Doing Until You Close Them?

Other than executing my business plans, I WILL be taking commissions until January 1st, 2017 at 12:01 AM Eastern Time. If you would like to commission me, you have until then. I’m keeping all the information the same and if I attend any conventions, I will be charging regular price for everything. No more convention exclusive specials. No negotiating the price. If your commission is going to cost $125.50, then you will have to pay $125.50.

I am closing down my commissions on January 1st, 2017 at 12:01 AM Eastern Time due to them not having a place in my long term business plans and I need to use the time spent on commissions executing my business plans instead. I WILL be accepting commissions up until that time, so get them now while you can.

Thank you so much for your time and your support.
