If it hasn’t been obvious, I’ve begun to clean my room once again, starting two days ago. I had started with alphabetizing all my English language manga – something that, once I took a step back to appreciate it, I couldn’t help but smile at the now easily findable titles. I had to order a few book replacements, since the cats unfortunately peed on them. Once those come in, I’ll hopefully be able to begin my goal of reading through all my manga. There’s a lot of series I own, but haven’t read yet. I’m also looking for series to potentially get rid of, as well as see which series I want to continue.
Yesterday, I did the rest of my books, save for the ones that don’t really have a place on my shelf or are for my
psychological magickal studies. I had to put them all in alphabetical order, just like my English language manga. I was actually really surprised that most of the books were on my list of things I own. I thought I didn’t really keep up-to-date with the lists that weren’t my English language manga, but I was wrong! It made my work a lot easier.
I started with my Japanese language manga. At first I was going to go through and double check the entire list (which is very short in comparison to my English language manga) to see if I had them all listed, but I decided that I should just put them in order and add the missing manga afterward. A few books confused me, as I put their English title (provided on the book), instead of their Japanese one. I decided not to fix it, because really, no one else but myself is going to ever open them, and went on my merry way of organizing them.
Once those were all in order, I moved onto my Japanese language novels. I looked on my list and of course it wasn’t up to date. I had three novels listed on it – one I recently bought and two that I bought back in 2010. I knew before I went to organize all the books (which is a whopping ten books), I needed to put them on my list. I organized them rather quickly and moved onto the next section: my English language novels.
I was so afraid my list of English language novels would be far out of date. I feel like I haven’t updated it in so long! Though, after actually organizing the books, I’m starting to think it’s because I haven’t actually bought any novels in a very long time. Of course, why should I buy more novels when I have plenty on my shelf I haven’t read yet (I say, yet I still buy manga…). I was pleasantly surprised that only four books hadn’t been on my list – one of those books being Ring, presumably the original novel version of the horror film, which I didn’t even buy. I’m guessing my mom or younger sister did at some point. I decided to make it mine since, well, it is an English translation of a Japanese novel and has a very welcome place on my shelf.
I decided that the book organizing was my final task for the day and I went off and did…something else. I don’t remember what at this point. I think I worked on artwork for a bit and talked to friends.
I knew what I was going to be doing today: organizing my DVDs/Blu-Rays and getting around to my Pokémon dedicated shelves.
